VIDEO INSTALLATION

Santo Santo (2023) is a video installation, consisting of two video works, To Oranda and Erg ver en Dichtbij, projected onto a skate spine. The dual projection reflects the process of being an outsider and becoming an insider. Erg ver en Dichtbij (2021), narrated in Japanese, explores on a personal scale themes of movement, the passage of time, various forms of distance, and passing. This work marks a start for my decision to migrate eventually to Belgium. To Oranda (2023) still includes personal anecdotes while reflecting on themes of nationality and moving to and within the EU. Together, these works serve as key moments in my video art practice and reflect on the transition of my migration experience and personal growth.
