GESLOTEN CIRCUIT VIDEO INSTALLATION
Gesloten Circuit, a three-part video installation housed within a floating dual-screen box (15:35 min), where asynchronous sound and imagery are playing simultaneously, generating a layered sensory experience.
The work opens with a lexicon of contemporary terms linked predominantly to female discomfort. These words are drawn from Japanese art circles and the internet to articulate the nuanced challenges faced by emerging female artists.
The second segment traces my family’s intergenerational migration narrative, framing the pursuit of desire and fulfillment across geographies and time.
In the closing sequence, personal letters written to people abroad are presented as acts of resistance against the restrictive border policies of the EU, Japan, and the US.
