NON PAREIL
PUBLICATION + INTERVIEWS
Non Pareil (2026) is a publication composed of bound and folded envelopes, designed to guide the viewer through a multistep process of discovery. The experience begins with the viewer mapping out the relationships I might have with the subjects in the book. Next, they encounter a single image of one person. Upon unfolding the envelope, a prompt appears, inviting the viewer to reflect on their assumptions about the person. As the envelope continues to unfold, the viewer confronts their own prejudices. Once fully opened, the envelope reveals its contents: photographs, a booklet with personal information, and an interview. The project aims to deepen my understanding of people I have known for years, challenging both my own biases through conducting in-depth interviews with my subjects and the biases of the viewer through the book.
